The Process//005

Every project runs through the same five phases.

We map what the brand already does: the site, the materials, the words in use. The gap between them is the brief.

  • Inventory
  • Mapping
  • Gap
Airone: research and mapping
Phase one

Discovery

We decide what the brand has to say, and in what order. The brief writes the decision down, so it stops being an opinion.

  • Brand narrative
  • Tone of voice
  • Positioning
Matteo Ciancio: brand system and tone of voice
Phase two

Strategy

We build the system that carries the decision: type, color, image, layout. Nothing here comes out of a template.

  • Visual system
  • Identity
  • No presets
URTO: the visual system on the poster
Phase three

Design

We test the system where it will actually live: screen, print, motion. What breaks here does not break in production.

  • Digital
  • Physical
  • In motion
Alessio Fontanelli: the system stress-tested on screen
Phase four

Refine

We hand over the files and the rules that govern them. The guidelines say what can change, what cannot, and who decides.

  • Brand guidelines
  • Source files
  • Rules of use
URTO: the identity deployed on a city tram
Phase five

Delivery

Let’s talk. The first step is finding out what was decided, and what just happened.
